Denji is a teenager who lives with a chainsaw demon named Poteeta. His father left him with crippling debts, and the young man barely makes ends meet by hunting demons with Potita. But one day Denji was betrayed and mercilessly killed. Moments before his death, he entered into a contract with Potita and was reborn as “Chainsaw Man” – a man with the heart of a demon inside. Such a valuable worker is hired by the Public Security Bureau to hunt demons again – now officially.
Meaning and history
In 2022, several film adaptations of popular manga were released. One of the most eagerly awaited debuts was the anime “Chainsaw Man”. It is based on a manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto. This multi-part effort is comparable to the renowned “Magic Battle” in terms of quality and action. The original Chainsaw Man manga has been shattering global popularity records: by December 2021, the number of copies sold had surpassed 12 million. Fujimoto’s work was featured in the weekly magazine Weekly Shonen Jump for two years, beginning in 2018. Later, the issues were grouped into 11 different editions of two volumes each.
What is Chainsaw Man?
The young man Denji works for the Yakuza as a demon slayer to pay off his late father’s debt. During the next battle, Denji dies but returns to life thanks to the demon dog Pochita. The creature becomes the heart of the young man, giving him the ability to turn body parts into chainsaws.
2018 – Today
The designers were pretty creative incorporating a drawing of a real chainsaw. The teeth-like part framed the first portion of the inscription. The latter filled the inner space of the chain part and had minimal spacing between the letters. Some letters were adjusted to fit perfectly next to the letter nearby. Their wonky shape went well with the anime theme. The motor portion of the chainsaw was formed from the “Man” portion of the name with handles attached to the letters. The whole emblem is done in one shade of yellow.
Font and Color
A bright yellow color is typically associated with positive emotions. However, the designers used it as a symbol of betrayal and hazard in this logo. It might also be linked to the main character’s hope that everything will be back to normal once he pays off the debt.
Given that the inscription was adjusted to fit the shape of a chainsaw, each letter was custom-drawn. Accordingly, there is no recognized font. However, there is a font that will allow you to recreate the inscription and it is called Tiki Oasis.
