The Bae Systems Company was founded in the year 1999, when the Marconi Electronic Systems company (MES) was bought by the British Aerospace. The name for the newly formed company was chosen from the shorting of British Aerospace name (BAe), combined with the part ‘Systems’ from Marconi Electronic.

The company is privately owned. The government buys a lot from them, but they are simply a client.

The first and the last logotype is in use by the company since the moment of foundation. It depicted the white-colored inscription, executed in the bold sans-serif style with the gaps between letters. This inscription is also written over the bright red strip, going through the full length of the company name.
