Meaning and History

The company was created in 1923 and was originally creating a lot of textile products, hence the name. They actually changed it several times, and the name ‘Textron’ was only adopted in 1945. By 1984, they’ve become one of the biggest companies in the United States after successfully merging with another big conglomerate.

Textron Logo

The first real logo they had was adopted in 1945. It featured just the company name written in a blocky font in all capital letters. The style is pretty usual, except they cut the parts off some letters, which made them look sharper than usual. Everything on the logo was dark blue, but they often used other colors.

Emblem and Symbol

There are many Textron subsidiaries (namely: Textron Aviation, Textron Systems, etc.) that use the original logotype of the company + something that signifies their own brand. It’s usually some form of their extended name. Written in a slightly different font or a different style altogether.
